Custom Manufacturing of Picture Frames for the Framing Industry
A customer in the framing industry was looking for a company to manufacture some high end, complex picture frames that included a brass inlay. Fortunately, they contacted Jay Gee Wood Products, which has been supplying superior custom wood products to its clients since 1968. Jay Gee’s 200,000 square foot facility is home to a complete selection of CNC equipment for the manufacture of wood products. Working from a customer supplied print and a 2D CAD drawing, Jay Gee began by using their rough milling equipment to produce the frame moldings, which were then machined and sanded. The moldings were assembled into the frames using a special CNC frame nailer before a clear open pore finish was applied to complete the process, all of which was closely monitored throughout by visual inspections. The result? Picture frames that are 13” X 15 ½”, beautifully manufactured from walnut and featuring a tricky polished brass inlay and gold tone molding. Jay Gee Wood Products now manufactures 1,000 of these frames per year in four different sizes for their U.S. based customer.
If you are looking for a manufacturer that can combine the warmth and tradition of wood with the precision, accuracy, and efficiency of high-speed CNC equipment, contact Jay Gee Wood Products for a full description of their services.
