Custom Manufacturing of Cutting Board for the Culinary Industry
At Jay Gee Wood Products, we keep expanding on our long tradition of manufacturing exceptional wood products, working continuously since our inception in 1968. The beauty and quality of our products is shown in the many high-profile jobs we take on, including this one for the cooking/culinary industry. A customer needed custom-designed and produced end grain cutting boards in 3 different sizes. Using a print supplied by our customer, along with a 2D CAD drawing, we fabricated the three boards using American Cherry and American Walnut wood. Each board needed special construction, with special glue-up equipment and a CNC machine employed for rough milling, machining, sanding, and assembly. When complete, each board was finished with a food-safe clear coat and visually inspected for quality. We now produce 1000 of these boards per year, with 30 to 100 fabricated per production run. These high-end cutting boards are utilized in many culinary settings, including being used on TV shows. Our company produced these cutting boards with a turnaround time of just 4 weeks to deliver to clients throughout the U.S.A.
